Lima, San Juan de Lurigancho district, 25 November.
On 25 November, in San Juan de Lurigancho, the visual health campaign ‘¡Qué bien te veo, Perú!’ (I see you well, Peru!) was carried out, benefiting more than 150 elderly people. The event was made possible thanks to the coordination between MIDIS, through the National Solidarity Assistance Programme Pension 65, the ONG Restoring Vision and MSH Peru. During the activity, reading glasses for presbyopia and sunglasses were distributed, helping to prevent damage from solar radiation and improve the quality of life of the beneficiaries.
The MSH Peru team closely followed the event, led by its director, Edgar Medina, who opened the event with a warm and guiding message. In his speech, he reminded attendees of the importance of eye care, the proper use of reading glasses and eye protection from the sun, highlighting how these simple habits strengthen autonomy and well-being in everyday life.
Likewise, the joint work between the State, international cooperation and civil society was highlighted, an alliance that makes it possible to bring these campaigns to more communities. ‘¡Qué bien te veo, Perú!’ reaffirms the commitment to continue joining forces to improve visual health, restore confidence and promote active ageing, demonstrating that sustainable impact is built through networking and shared purpose.
